Thrift - facebook's inter-language IDL and networking framework

Thrift is a new open source framework from Facebook, used to seamlessly and effortlessly communicate between different software modules written in different programming languages. It is used for inter-server communication in Facebook's datcenter, and as a front end to a few other open components.
The talk will cover:

1. Thrift overview
2. The interface language itself - defining abstract protocols.
3. Generating services - implementing a fully working server in 20 lines of code.
4. Real world examples using Thrift - Cassandra, Scribe.
